James Q Martin Patagonia
Photographs by James Q Martin from trips to Patagonia in Chile and Argentina, including work for the film Mile For Mile, and the nonprofits Conservacion Patagonica, Douglas Tompkins Conservation, and Rios Libres
Patagonia is a place that holds my imagination captive. Even after five different journeys to the bottom of the planet, I cannot get enough.
My first excursion was in 2000 as a climber and young photographer. Later, I went as a conservationist filmmaker and helped stop mega-hydroelectric development through the nonprofit I co-founded, Rios Libres. Now, it's my privilege to help raise awareness for the creation of new national parks through the Tompkins Conservation Group.
